Radiologic and CT technologist with 8 years in hospital imaging, currently a lead CT technologist at a 480-bed level 1 trauma centre performing about 190 CT exams a day across 4 scanners. Holds a 98.6% first-attempt image quality rate on radiologist review, cut average CT radiation dose 22% through protocol work, and brought stroke CT door-to-scan time from 19 to 11 minutes. Keeps patients safe and scans moving in a busy trauma department.
JRCERT-accredited programme with 1,700 clinical hours. Coursework in Radiographic Positioning, Radiation Physics, Radiation Protection, and Patient Care.
State licensed. Current in Basic Life Support and completes 24 continuing education credits every 2 years.
- Lead a shift of 7 technologists performing about 190 CT exams a day across 4 scanners at a level 1 trauma centre.
- Hold a 98.6% first-attempt image quality rate on radiologist review, against a department goal of 97%.
- Cut average CT radiation dose 22% by revising 18 protocols with 2 radiologists and a medical physicist.
- Performed about 30 CT exams a shift, including trauma and CT angiography, with 0 patient safety events.
- Helped bring stroke CT door-to-scan time from 19 to 11 minutes with a pre-alert and table-ready routine.
- Managed 12 contrast reactions using the reaction protocol, all resolved with 0 lasting patient harm.
- Performed about 45 radiographic exams a shift in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings at a 120-bed hospital.
- Held a 2% repeat image rate against a department average of 5% over 2 years.
- Cross-trained into CT in 9 months, covering 2 CT shifts a week before moving to the trauma centre.
CT Dose Optimisation. Reviewed 6 months of dose data in Radimetrics for 18 high-volume protocols with 2 radiologists and a medical physicist, then adjusted tube current modulation and reconstruction settings, which cut average CT dose 22% with no drop in image quality scores.
Stroke Door-to-Scan Workflow. Worked with the emergency and stroke teams to add a 10-minute pre-alert, a cleared scanner rule, and a technologist ready at the door, tracked on 300 stroke cases, which brought median door-to-scan time from 19 to 11 minutes.
New Technologist CT Training Plan. Wrote a 12-week CT training plan with 40 competency checks and supervised scan counts, used for 9 new CT technologists, which cut time to independent trauma coverage from 6 months to 3.
- Member of a state society of radiologic technologists, presenting on dose reduction at its 2025 meeting.
- Clinical instructor for radiography students, supervising about 6 students a year on CT rotations.
- Volunteer at a free community health screening day, helping about 200 residents each spring.
- Lead a CT shift team of 7 technologists, setting scanner assignments and covering trauma alerts.
- Serve on the imaging quality committee of 10 members that reviews incidents and protocol changes.
- Trained 9 new CT technologists in 4 years using the 12-week CT competency plan.
