A strong mobile developer resume should show apps that reached real users and the numbers that improved once you owned them. Highlight monthly active users or downloads, release cadence, crash-free rate and store vitals, startup and performance figures with a before and after, and any migration delivered without stopping feature work. Name your platform and language explicitly, because Kotlin, Swift, and React Native are filtered on separately, and say whether the app was consumer or enterprise, since offline sync and device fleets are a different craft from store optimisation. Use the examples below to see how to turn mobile work into clear, results-focused resume achievements.

Mobile Developer Resume Example

Meet Zaid Rahimi, a fictional mobile developer owning a cross-platform React Native app with 1.9 million monthly users. This example shows platform-agnostic depth: startup performance, crash reduction, and release automation across both stores.

Zaid Rahimi

(385) 555-0162 Provo, UT

Objective

Mobile developer with 9 years building cross-platform applications, currently owning a React Native app on iOS and Android with 1.9 million monthly active users. Cut cold start time from 4.2 seconds to 1.3 and raised crash-free sessions from 97.1% to 99.6% across 3 years. Shares code where it helps and writes platform-specific code where users would notice the difference.

Education
B.S. in Computer Science, Timpanogos Line University 2013 – 2017

Coursework in Software Engineering, Algorithms, Human-Computer Interaction, and Operating Systems.

Associate Android Developer Certification, Google 2019

Also completed a 40-hour course in mobile performance profiling in 2022.

Skills
Cross-Platform

Timpanogos Crown Commerce Provo, UT
  • Own a React Native application on iOS and Android with 1.9 million monthly active users.
  • Cut cold start time from 4.2 seconds to 1.3 by deferring 14 initialisation tasks and trimming the bundle.
  • Raised crash-free sessions from 97.1% to 99.6% across 3 years on both platforms.
Software Engineer, Mobile 06/2018 – 03/2021
Utah Lake Line Software Orem, UT
  • Built 3 cross-platform applications in React Native for clients with 40,000 to 300,000 users.
  • Reduced the release cycle from 6 weeks to 2 by automating build and distribution for both stores.
  • Shared 78% of code across platforms while keeping platform-specific navigation patterns intact.
Junior Developer 07/2017 – 05/2018
Utah Lake Line Software Orem, UT
  • Shipped about 40 merged changes to 2 mobile applications in the first year.
  • Fixed 60 defects from the backlog, of which 14 had been open for more than 6 months.
  • Added 120 unit tests to an untested module, taking coverage from 9% to 64%.
Projects

Cold Start Reduction. Profiled startup and found 14 tasks running before first paint that had no reason to. Deferring them and trimming the bundle took cold start from 4.2 seconds to 1.3, which moved retention on the first session measurably.

Release Automation. Cut the release cycle from 6 weeks to 2 by automating builds, signing, and store submission for both platforms. Most of the old cycle was manual steps that nobody had questioned.

Crash Reduction Programme. Took crash-free sessions from 97.1% to 99.6% by triaging crashes weekly by user impact rather than by count, which surfaced 3 rare crashes hitting a large share of paying users.

Extra-Curricular Activities
  • Maintain an open-source React Native utility library with roughly 1,100 monthly downloads.
  • Speak at a regional mobile developers meetup 2 or 3 times a year on performance work.
  • Mentor 3 developers a year moving from web into mobile development.
Leadership
  • Serve as technical lead for a mobile team of 5 across 2 platforms.
  • Set the release and crash triage standards now followed on 3 applications.
  • Mentored 4 developers into independent feature ownership across 4 years.

Associate Mobile Developer 06/2018 – 06/2019
San Gabriel Line Media Pasadena, CA
  • Shipped 35 merged changes in the first year across iOS and Android codebases.
  • Instrumented 40 analytics events that became the basis for product funnel reporting.
  • Fixed 50 defects including 6 crashes that accounted for 21% of total crash volume.
Projects

Onboarding Rebuild. Ran 6 experiments on the first-run experience and found that asking for goals before account creation, not after, was what moved the number. Thirty-day retention went from 22% to 34%.

Playback Performance. Took video start time from 3.1 seconds to 0.9 through preloading and adaptive streaming. Abandonment before playback had been the largest single drop in the viewing funnel.

App Size Audit. Cut app size 38% by auditing 22 dependencies and removing 9 that nothing used any more, which measurably improved install completion on slower connections.

  • Added 200 unit and instrumentation tests, taking coverage on 3 modules from 12% to 68%.
  • Fixed 40 device-specific defects reported across 60 distinct Android device models.
Projects

Compose Migration. Moved 140 screens from XML layouts to Jetpack Compose over 2 years while the product kept shipping, by migrating screen by screen behind the existing navigation rather than attempting a rewrite.

Vitals Recovery. Took the application not responding rate from 0.9% to 0.11% by tracing stalls to 6 main-thread database calls, which had been invisible on the flagship devices the team tested on.

Build Modularisation. Split a monolithic codebase into 9 modules, cutting build time from 11 minutes to 3. The change paid for itself in a few weeks across a team that builds dozens of times a day.

Extra-Curricular Activities

  • Added VoiceOver support to 30 screens, bringing the app to an internal accessibility standard.
  • Wrote 150 unit tests raising coverage on the networking layer from 14% to 71%.
Projects

SwiftUI Rebuild. Rebuilt 90 screens in SwiftUI over 2 years alongside a shipping UIKit codebase, using a hosting layer so both could coexist. No release was blocked by the migration at any point.

Review Rejection Elimination. Took App Store rejections from 7 in a year to 0 across the next 3 by building a pre-submission checklist covering privacy declarations, permission strings, and the guideline sections that had actually caused the rejections.

Accessibility Programme. Added VoiceOver support and Dynamic Type across 30 screens, then built the audit process that keeps new screens compliant. In a patient-facing app this is a usability requirement, not a nicety.
