A strong game developer resume should lead with shipped titles and the systems you owned on them. Highlight player counts or units sold, the features or systems you built, performance figures with a before and after such as frame time or crash rate, milestone delivery, and any tooling other developers now use. Name your engine and language explicitly, because Unity, Unreal, C#, and C++ are filtered on separately. Say which discipline you work in, since gameplay, systems programming, live services, and engine work are different jobs on the same credits list. Use the examples below to see how to turn game development into clear, results-focused resume achievements.

  • Fixed 35 bugs across gameplay and AI systems in a 14-week internship.
  • Profiled and optimised 3 hot paths, recovering about 2 milliseconds a frame on target hardware.
Projects

Enemy AI Framework. Designed the AI framework for 28 enemy types across 4 factions on a 3 million player title, built so designers author behaviour in data. The 47% CPU reduction came from time-slicing perception and batching navigation queries.

Pathfinding Reliability. Cut open-world pathfinding failures from 1,200 a day to under 20 by instrumenting every failure with location and cause, which showed most came from 6 navigation mesh generation issues rather than the search itself.
